Taylor Whips Through Five Costume Changes for New Video

Country star says she relies on Velcro and snaps to layer three outfits on top of each other.

Taylor Swift hosted a huge premiere Thursday night (Aug. 30) for the unveiling of the video for "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," Taylor's first No. 1 pop hit.

Among the video's elements—Taylor and her bandmates are dancing around in animal costumes.

"I wanted the video to look as quirky as the song sounds," Taylor told MTV News. "So, you'll see the apartment is covered in knitting, and there's just random woodland creatures popping up."

Then there were the costume changes.

"It was like all modesty had to go out the window, and all my clothes were put together with Velcro and snaps so that I could have like three different outfits layered on top of each other, and that's how we did the costume changes," she says.

"So, it was really hectic. It was a frantic scene behind the camera. At one point, I had a breaking point where I was like, 'I can't do five costume changes. There's not enough time!' And we ended up actually being able to do it."
