Taylor Swift Will Not Be in Les Misérables

Samantha Barks to portray Eponine.

If Taylor Swift fans were hoping to see the country sweetheart hit the big screen again in the film adaptation of Les Misérables, they will have to hope the singer takes up another movie soon. Though Taylor was offered the role of Eponine, the role has ultimately gone to singer and actress Samantha Barks, according to TheInsider.com.

"Most incredible moment of my life!!!" the 21-year-old Samantha said via Twitter. The announcement was made onstage at the Manchester Palace in England by producer Cameron Mackintosh at the end of a performance of Oliver!, in which Samantha currently portrays the character Nancy.

Les Misérables begins filming in March and is set to hit theaters in December. The all-star cast will include Anne Hathaway, Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe. The singer/actress is clearly familiar with the role of Eponine. Watch Samantha portraying Eponine during a performance of "On My Own" from the 25th anniversary celebration of Les Misérables below.
