Taylor Swift reached out to another sick little fan over the weekend, speaking through Facetime with an 8-year-old girl dying of cancer.

The family of Delaney “Laney” Brown, who lives in Reading, Pa., near Taylor’s hometown, reported on Facebook that the conversation happened Friday night (Dec. 20)—Laney’s 8th birthday.

“Laney was so nervous to talk to her because she is such a ‘famous celebrity.’ I was actually worried that when Taylor Facetimed her that she would be to scared to talk but Taylor was fabulous!!” the post read.

“She really engaged Laney in conversation. Laney lit up and had a huge smile on her face. I can't thank Taylor enough for taking time out from her family to make Laney's birthday very memorable. We will hold that memory in our hearts forever.”

The next night, thousands of carolers gathered outside Laney’s house to sing Christmas songs for her.
