Taylor Swift Offered Role in Les Misérables

Taylor reportedly wins role over contenders Lea Michele, Scarlett Johansson and Evan Rachel Wood.

It looks like Taylor Swift has beaten Glee star Lea Michele, as well as actresses Scarlett Johansson and Evan Rachel Wood for the role of Eponine in the film adaptation of Les Misérables.

According to broadwayworld.com, an offer is on the table for Taylor to take on the role, and the 22-year-old superstar is expected to accept it. If she accepts the role as Eponine, Taylor would join join an all-star cast including Russell Crowe (Javert), Hugh Jackman (Jean Valjean), Sacha Baron Cohen (Thernardier), Eddie Redmayne (Marius), Aaron Tveit (Enjolras), Anne Hathaway (Fantine) and Helena Bonham Carter (Madame Thenardier).

The film, directed by Tom Hooper, is set to begin shooting in March, with all cast members singing live on film. Les Misérables is set to be released on Dec. 7, 2012—just before Taylor's 23rd birthday on Dec. 13.
