Talking about money is so crass, isn’t it?

But if we were to be so tasteless, we might point out that Taylor Swift made $20.7 million last year, making her the sixth highest earner among musicians in 2010, according to Billboard magazine.

That put her ahead of Paul McCartney, the Eagles and the Black Eyed Peas. And Taylor didn’t even perform at the Super Bowl.

Taylor beat out all other country acts, including Brad Paisley ($14 million), Carrie Underwood ($13.5 million), Tim McGraw ($13.5 million) and Rascal Flatts ($11.9 million).

The top five musical money makers last year, according to Billboard:

  1. Lady GaGa
    $30.6 million
  2. Bon Jovi
    $30.4 million
  3. Roger Waters (former Pink Floyd band member)
    $24.5 million
  4. Dave Matthews Band
    $23.9 million
  5. Justin Bieber
    $22.3 million
