Representatives from The View report that Kanye West called Taylor to offer his apology. “After the show, he spoke personally to the country music superstar via telephone and has apologized to the 19-year-old singer,” according to the statement from The View. “She has accepted Mr. West’s apology. The contents of the phone call are to remain private.” Afterward, Taylor told ABC News Radio, “He was very sincere in his apology and I accepted that apology.”

The controversy began when Taylor was interrupted by West when she was making her acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards, Sept. 13. After the incident, West was roundly criticized by other entertainers and celebrities. When asked about the incident on The View, Taylor recalled, “I’m not gonna say I wasn’t rattled by it. I had to perform five minutes later, so I had to get myself back to the place where I could perform.”
