Taylor Plays Nice With Famous Friends

Taylor talks about her onstage duet partners

Though Taylor Swift could arguably persuade almost any artist to join her onstage to trade a few lyrics—she’s performed with everyone from Faith Hill to Nicki Minaj, Justin Bieber, Stevie Nicks and Def Leppard—the 21-year-old singer says she considers more than just her duet partners' musical skills; she also considers attitude.

“I really tend to go and gravitate towards the nice people in whatever genre I’m kind of hanging out in at the time,” she tells The Tennessean. “If I’m in L.A., the people I’m going to call [to] come hang out and play a song in my show are the nice people that I’ve had really great experiences with, who’ve been awesome and sincere. That’s the same thing in Nashville.”

Taylor brings her Speak Now Tour to Nashville's Bridgestone Arena Friday and Saturday (Sept. 16 and 17) for two sold-out shows, but she doesn't give any hints as to who her special guests might be. “I hate to advertise things before they happen, but I also have friends in Nashville whose music I’m a fan of,” she says, “and it could be really fun.”
