Taylor Contacts Family of Fallen Marine

Sergeant Wilson's combat friends reach out to the country star through YouTube.

Marine Sgt. Wade D. Wilson loved Taylor Swift. A combat buddy, former Marine Cpl. Josh Marreel, says in a YouTube post, "Anybody that knew Willy knew that he worshiped you. He even slept with a poster of you in between our beds in Afghanistan."

Sergeant Wilson was killed May 11 during combat in Afghanistan. So his combat friends asked Taylor if she would reach out to his parents to honor his sacrifice.

Taylor has done that, according to Texas TV station KBTX.

And she sent a handwritten note to the fallen Marine himself, a note that was attached to some flowers.

"Wade, thank you for loving my music," she wrote. "I won't forget it and I will never forget you. Love, Taylor Swift."

Taylor promised the family she would wear Sergeant Wilson's dogtags in her next music video.
