Taylor’s CD Hits the Top

Taylor Swift continues her meteoric rise to stardom as her self-titled debut CD reaches No. 1 on the Billboard Country Albums chart.

The teen star hits the top in the album’s 39th week of release. This marks the slowest chart climb to No. 1 since the Dixie Chicks took 51 weeks to hit that spot in 1999 with Wide Open Spaces, according to Billboard. Taylor is also the only country artist to currently rank in the Top 15 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart. Just last month, Taylor secured a spot in country music history as the only female country artist to write or co-write every song on a Platinum-selling debut CD.
