TANYA TUCKER FILES PROTECTION ORDER

According to the Associated Press, Tanya Tucker has filed an order of protection against her former fiancé, Jerry Laseter. Tanya alleged that Jerry has harassed and assaulted her before shows, grabbed her by the throat, given her a black eye and threatened her. The couple has a five-year-old daughter, Layla Laseter. A hearing is scheduled for April 1 in Nashville. In a written statement, Tanya said that on January 29, she was awakened when Jerry poured "ice cold water on me and started yelling at me." Tanya added that Jerry poked her in the chest and grabbed her by the throat. A sheriff's deputy was called to the scene, but Tanya did not want to file charges. According to a deputy's report, Tanya locked herself in a bathroom, and Jerry kicked in the door. Jerry has denied the allegations, saying he never hit Tanya and was never physically abusive in any way. Additionally, Tanya's personal assistant, Roberta Ann Carroll, also filed an order of protection against Jerry. She alleged Jerry struck her in the eye and pulled her hair, and also claimed Jerry has threatened to kill her. Police have been called to Tucker's home nine times in the last two years. Five of those calls involved domestic disputes, according to records at the Williamson County Sheriff's Office.
