Sugarland’s Kristian Is Writing Songs All Over the World

The duo splits to write songs separately—Jennifer goes to her piano, Kristian goes to Japan.

Jennifer Nettles is set to make her national reality-TV debut Thursday night (May 24) as a mentor/partner for new ABC show Duets.

But she's not ignoring her job as half of country's successful duo Sugarland.

Jennifer tells ABC News Radio that she and Kristian Bush are doing some songwriting apart from each other for their follow-up to the 2010 album The Incredible Machine.

"Kristian has been writing with people from Japan. He's been to Sweden and doing some writing," Jennifer says.

"I've been getting to know my piano again and just having fun with that. We've been doing a lot of different writing, and we'll see how it pans out when we decide to go to the studio."
