Sugarland Readies New Music

Sugarland’s Kristian Bush tells billboard.com that he and partner Jennifer Nettles have written “six or seven” songs for their next album, the follow-up to last year’s Enjoy the Ride.

Kristian says the new songs have been influenced by the duo’s current stint opening for Kenny Chesney. “From playing these large venues with him, we're discovering that to communicate with 20,000-plus people a night, you have to really simplify your message without pandering,” he says. “You have to write something that is visceral and deliver it in a way that's intelligent but doesn't insult anybody.”
