Steel Magnolia’s Meghan Linsey Parties With Brad Pitt

Top stars of film and music gather to help rebuild New Orleans.

Steel Magnolia's Meghan Linsey recently partied with the top stars of film and music and it was all for a good cause.

On Saturday (March 10), Meghan participated in “A Night to Make It Right,” a benefit for Brad Pitt's Make It Right Foundation. Yes, Brad was there, along with his leading lady, Angelina Jolie, as well as pop star Rihanna, television star and host for the evening Ellen DeGeneres, American Idol’s Randy Jackon and The Help’s Octavia Spencer, among others. Seal, Sheryl Crow, Kanye West and Snoop Dogg were among the performers at the event, which took place at the Hyatt Regency in New Orleans.

“I don’t get star-struck, but it was like a little mini-Oscars!” Meghan told Music News Nashville of the experience. “Standing on the side of the stage watching Kanye doing his thing with Rihanna, I was standing next to Brad and Angelina and a couple of their children, you couldn’t help but be a little. . . . I love what they’ve used their fame to do, they’ve made such a difference.”

The foundation used proceeds from the fundraiser to assist in rebuilding the lower ninth ward area of New Orleans, which was devastated by Hurricane Katrina in 2005.  "They are making it as sustainable and environmentally sound, building 150 homes!" Meghan said.  The soulful singer is a native of Ponchatoula, La., located nearly an hour a way from New Orleans
