Stars Step up to the Plate

Carrie Underwood, Vince Gill, Darius Rucker, Joe Nichols and Luke Bryan are among the stars who will be taking their swings for charity at the City of Hope Celebrity Softball Challenge, June 10, at Greer Stadium in Nashville.

The game, one of the highlights of CMA Music Festival Week in Nashville, raises money for the City of Hope, a leading center for the treatment of cancer and other serious illnesses. Two teams of country stars, representing the Grand Ole Opry and "After MidNite With Blair Garner," compete in the contest, which usually features plenty of pranks and surprises. And this year, the game is returning to an evening time slot, beginning at 7 p.m., giving fans and artists a comfortable break from the summer heat.  More stars will be announced soon. Tickets for the City of Hope Celebrity Softball Challenge are available now through ticketmaster.com.
