CMT premieres a new series Sunday, Oct. 1, at 8 .m. ET that combines a movie with down-home Southern cooking—Southern Fried Flicks With Hazel Smith.

Hazel, a writer for and a Country Weekly contributing editor, hosts the series. During the course of the movie, Hazel, who’s also known as an expert cook, will show you how to prepare a delicious Southern delicacy while spooning out the “hot dish” about your favorite country stars. And you never know what hot celebrity might be dropping by to help her cook. The first movie slated for the series is the action comedy Hooper, starring Burt Reynolds and Sally Field.
