Sorry Lionel, But Jason Might Party All Night Long

ACM Entertainer nomination "creates a whole new excitement about being at the show," Aldean says

Big weekend for Jason Aldean in Las Vegas—He's got the Academy of Country Music Awards show one night and then a Lionel Richie TV taping the next.

And those ACMs are a big, big deal: Jason has six nominations, including the top one, for Entertainer of the Year.

"To now be nominated in that elite club where you're nominated for entertainer," he told CMT Radio's Cody Alan, "to me, it creates a whole new excitement around being at the show and looking forward to going. It's kind of been a whole new experience for me."

And if Jason wins the top trophy?

"I will probably be late for the Lionel Richie taping the next day," he said, laughing.

The Academy of Country Music Awards airs Sunday (April 1) at 8 pm ET on CBS.
