Songwriters Hall Inducts New Members

Top songwriters John Hiatt, Tom Shapiro and Matraca Berg were officially inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame at a ceremony at the Renaissance Nashville Hotel, Sunday night, Oct. 26.

John’s songs have been recorded by artists in several genres of music, and the acclaimed singer/songwriter has released more than 20 albums. Tom’s hits include Brooks & Dunn’s “Ain’t Nothin’ ‘Bout You” and the current Keith Urban single, “You Look Good in My Shirt.” Matraca has written such country classics as Deana Carter’s “Strawberry Wine,” “Wild Angels” by Martina McBride and Trisha Yearwood’s “Wrong Side of Memphis.” Martina performed “Wild Angels” in a musical salute to Matraca and her songs.
