Songwriter Charged with Murder

Hit songwriter Richard Fagan has been charged with the murder of his roommate, a music publisher.

Gaetano "Tom" Oteri, the father of former Saturday Night Live cast member Cheri Oteri, was stabbed to death in Nashville on April 26. Police said that the accused killer fled the scene, and was arrested for DUI later that night. The body was found after Fagan, 61, called a friend to check on Oteri, who was 69. Richard Fagan’s hits include John Michael Montgomery’s "Sold (the Grundy County Auction Incident)” and Clay Walker’s “Only on Days That End in ‘Y.’”
