A SONGWRITER IS BORN

Martina's buddies, The Warren Brothers, talk her into co-writing her new single.

Martina McBride's CMA Award Show debut of her new tune "Anyway" was a highlight of the evening, generating one of a very few standing ovations during the show. But the song wouldn't have been written if The Warren Brothers—Brett and Brad—who opened shows for Martina earlier this year, hadn't convinced her to write with them. "They said, 'Why don't we write together?'" she recalls. "And I said, 'You know I'm not really a songwriter.'" Fortunately, she finally gave in when they said, "Sit down with us and see what you have to say." To Martina's surprise, she did have something to say!
