In a conversation, Eric Paslay is soft-spoken with a twinge of a dry sense of humor. But he admits he isn’t as bashful as people assume he is, and he’s certainly not timid in front of the camera for his latest video, “Song About a Girl.”

“I did theater growing up, so I don’t mind,” he tells Country Weekly. “I actually had a scholarship in community college for theater. I”m not afraid to get up in front of people and do stuff.”

But Eric also admits that he had to pull himself out of his own shell. He says, “I think most all of us are introverts trying to figure out how not to be. Anybody who took time to learn guitar in their bedroom and write songs is probably an introvert deep down.”
