Sick Carrie Underwood Plows Through One Show, Postpones Another

Even big-time country stars on tour get sick, and such was the case with Carrie Underwood this past weekend (Dec. 14–16).

The show went on Friday night in Des Moines, Iowa, but Carrie had a tough time getting through. In a raspy-voiced apology, Carrie told the crowd she wouldn't keep the profits.

“I’ve given everything a million percent, but I'm stll only getting about halfway to where I want to be, and I’m not used to that,” Carrie said, in a moment captured by a fan at the concert.

“I feel real guilty about making any money off this show tonight. So whatever I’m making is just gonna go right back into this community because I feel like that's the right thing to do.”

That means some charity in the Des Moines area will see somewhere between $250,000 and a half a million bucks.

Carrie also canceled her Saturday night show in Kansas City, rescheduling it for May 6.
