Shania Gets Married on New Year’s Day
photo by ROBERT EVANS Just a month after confirming her engagement to Frédéric Thiébaud, Shania Twain has tied the knot, according to various media reports.
The couple was married during a small ceremony in Puerto Rico on New Year's Day.
Last month Shania's manager, Jason Owen, confirmed to Country Weekly that Shania, 45, was engaged to her beau, Frédéric, 40.
Frédéric is the ex-husband of Shania's former friend Marie-Anne Thiébaud, who Shania's ex-husband, Robert John "Mutt" Lange, reportedly left her for in 2008 (though Mutt denied the affair).
Shania has one son, Eja, from her relationship with Mutt.
Shania recently wrote about Frédéric on her website, calling him "a dear friend and a true gentleman."
"Talking about love," she continued, "I am excited to share some personal news with you; I'm in love! Frédéric Nicolas Thiébaud has been a true gift to me as a compassionate, understanding friend and over time, an amazing love has blossomed from this precious friendship."
