Shania Twain's presence at this year's CMT Music Awards, held June 8 at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena and broadcast on CMT and cmt.com, was impressive. Not only did the once-reclusive superstar shine in a show-opening recorded clip with Taylor Swift that spoofed the movie Thelma & Louise—spoiler alert, show host Kid Rock bit the dust when the trio drove off a cliff—but she was also acknowledged by her fellow artists and fans in attendance with non-stop attention throughout the show, both on- and off-camera.

But it's one of the Canadian diva's most candid moments that sparked a flurry of Twitter and Facebook activity. Walking to the stage to announce the winner of CMT's Best Male Video of the Year, Shania slipped in her high heels and caught herself as she landed on her knees.

She quickly recovered and presented the award to the absent Blake Shelton.

While many didn't even catch the slip, Shania decided to address the faux pas upfront by releasing a homemade video.
