Ever wonder how—or where—one even begins to create one's first headlining tour? Jake Owen is willing to give you a glimpse of how it all went down in his case for his Days of Gold headlining tour.

In a new video on his website, Jake takes you behind the curtain to watch the development of his show—from sharing his hopes for the tour, to explaining the “Beachin’” set, to plotting the set list and raising the lights. He also remembers his humble beginnings as a club singer at the Riverside Cafe in his hometown of Vero Beach, Fla., and as an opening act. Jake even gets a little emotional talking about how far he’s come. And then there's precious Pearl, his baby girl, who makes a cameo appearance in the video.

The Days Of Gold Tour picks back up on May 15 in Huntington, W.Va., with Eli Young Band and The Cadillac Three, and continues into October.
