College Sophomore Scotty McCreery Plans Sophomore Album

Second year of college and second album coincide.

Your freshman year of college is typically about getting acclimated to the college experience and being responsible for yourself, but come sophomore year, it gets real. But Scotty McCreery isn’t scared.

Not only is he starting his second year of college, he’s releasing his second album, See You Tonight, on Oct. 15. Scotty says the album contains both old-school and new-school country music. “You will hear the contemporary country, but you will always hear the steel guitar and fiddle and those little nuances that make the older country what it was,” he says in a release. “I definitely am trying to stay true to my tastes as an artist on this album.”

Between writing papers and calculating formulas, he also managed to write some songs for the project. “I have been writing for a long time now, since I was a kid, but these are the first songs I’ve had a chance to record and release to the public and I’m excited,” says Scotty. “I was lucky to have my first single off the record be one that I co-wrote. I am excited about letting folks hear it. We have been working on this for the better part of a year now, so it’s a long time coming.”

In support of See You Tonight, Scotty is also cramming and pulling all-nighters for his Weekend Roadtrip Tour, which continues through November.
