Scotty McCreery Has Rough Start Singing World Series Anthem

Some say he also flubbed a couple of lyrics, singing “No Jose” instead of “Oh say.”

And you thought the American Idol judges were tough.

Some media outlets are reporting that Scotty McCreery flubbed the national anthem Wednesday night (Oct. 19) before game 1 of the World Series between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Texas Rangers.

Now it's clear that a microphone malfunction at the beginning of the song forced him to restart. But is that Scotty's fault? We think not!

Then, right around 2:57 into this video of the performance, some say Scotty sang "No Jose can you see" instead of "Oh say can you see."

As for Scotty, he seems to have had a grand time. He tweeted before the anthem that he was pumped to be watching Chris Berman and the rest of the ESPN crew in the flesh.

Afterward, Scotty tweeted, "Well, as mr George Strait would say, I wasn't here for a long time, but I was here for a good time! Great time in St. Louis yesterday!"
