Sarah Darling Stars in Romantic New Video

“I’m in this place in my life where I feel like I know exactly who I am.”

Sarah Darling looks more like she’s planning a romantic rendezvous than shooting a music video. But in this beautiful, pastoral setting just north of bustling downtown Nashville, that’s exactly what the lovely, young country star is doing—shooting a video for her new single, “Home to Me.”

As serene as it is, there’s a dozen or so people milling around building rolling camera dollies, creating postcard props, hovering nearby with emergency hairspray and powder, or just simply watching. But Sarah is completely unfazed by the flurry of activity and the multiple pairs of eyes on her. Instead, she is swaying and singing to the music in the background like a seasoned professional. “In this situation, it’s not awkward,” she says. “It’s almost relaxing when you shoot a video like this. And I’m just looking around thinking how gorgeous Tennessee is.”

Sarah's upcoming album, which includes “Home to Me,” has been a labor of love. Although she’s an accomplished songwriter herself, she tapped into the resources available to her—Nashville’s rich songwriting community—when it came to finding songs for the project. She feels confident that she picked a good one with “Home to Me.” “I’ll never forget the first time I actually played it to a live audience,” she recalls. “I just remember looking out and seeing people from my label and we all just kind of lit up at the same time. It was like we all knew that we had something the first time I sang it with my band.”
