SARA SPEAKS TO FANS

Sara Evans spoke to a national TV audience on ABC’s Dancing With the Stars, Tuesday night, Oct. 17, about her decision to file for divorce and ultimately leave the show.

Sara revealed that she had planned to stay with the show, where she had advanced to the next round, until an incident happened last Wednesday, Oct. 11. She did not talk about specifics, but Nashville’s daily newspaper The Tennessean reports that Sara may have been referring to a public disagreement over their three children between herself and husband Craig Schelske outside a Los Angeles restaurant. “I was worried about the emotional welfare of my son,” Sara said on a taped interview during the show, “and I knew I could not leave him because he was traumatized.” Sara added, "I am grateful for the outpouring of love and support for me and my family.” Sara has filed for divorce from Schelske, charging him with adultery, verbal abuse and inappropriate marital conduct. She has accused him of having an affair with the couple’s former nanny, Alison Clinton Lee, who has denied the allegation and is seeking a retraction of the charge from Sara’s attorney.
