In light of the divorce, Sara has also dropped out of the Dancing With the Stars TV competition, where she had advanced to the next round. A statement from Sara’s representatives explained that, “Recent events that shed light on the status of her marriage prompted Ms. Evans to make the filing, which was registered today (October 12) with a court in Tennessee, where Ms. Evans resides.” It is believed that the filing took place in Williamson County, outside of Nashville, where the family has a home.

Nashville's daily newspaper The Tennessean reports today, Oct. 13, on its website new information from the divorce filing. The document alleges that Schelske had committed adultery, verbally abused Sara and frequently watched pornography at home.

The couple has three children, son Avery, 7, and daughters Olivia, 3, and 2-year-old Audrey. The statement concludes, “Ms. Evans hopes that her fans and TV viewers who’ve supported her in recent weeks and throughout her music career will respect and understand her need for privacy in the face of these recent events.”
