Rosanne Responds to Rich

John performed “I Walk the Line,” the hit made famous by Rosanne’s father Johnny Cash, and told the audience he felt sure that Johnny would have supported McCain. Rosanne noted that she’s not sure who her father would have voted for and added that she wished people would not use his name to support their own causes.

In a letter to CMT, Rosanne says, “It is appalling to me that people still want to invoke my father’s name, five years after his death, to ascribe beliefs, ideals, values, and loyalties to him that cannot possibly be determined and to try to further their own agendas by doing so.”
