There is always a magical moment (or 10) during CMA Music Festival, and one such moment happened right off the bat during the 2014 CMA Music Festival Kick-Off Concert on the Chevrolet Riverfront Stage.

Southern rockers The Marshall Tucker Band welcomed award-winning bluegrass virtuoso Ricky Skaggs to their stage for a jam on the MTB classics “Fire on the Mountain” and “Can’t You See.”

“Hearing Ricky’s trademark tenor voice pierce through the air on ‘Can’t You See’ gave me goose bumps,” said MTB lead singer Doug Gray. “Even though our styles are a little different, Ricky fit right in with us.”

“I remember many years ago while listening to their first LP, I looked at the cover and asked someone, ‘Which one is Marshall Tucker?’” added Ricky, who later learned that nobody in the group actually has that name. “It was great to get to play some of those same songs with the band.”

There will surely be more of the same magic during CMA Music Festival 2015, and tickets are already on sale.
