Taylor Swift's heading back to the big screen, according to the New York Post, which reports that Taylor will be in Meryl Streep's upcoming movie, The Giver.

This is no lighthearted romp: The Giver is an adaptation of the book that focuses on a boy growing up in a Utopian society who eventually is given the title of Receiver of Memory.

No word on what role Taylor might play. But Taylor and British actor Brenton Thwaites (who'll play that boy in The Giver) recently met and hung out for hours at the Toronto Film Festival.

Other co-stars: Jeff Bridges and Alexander Skarsgard.

Filming starts in October in South Africa, and the movie is set to be released in August of next year.
