According to the October 3rd edition of the "Page Six" column in the New York Post, the reason for the Kenny Chesney/Renée Zellweger split was another man. "Page Six" credited Women's Wear Daily's Aileen Mehle with breaking the news that, just two weeks after filing for an annulment, Renée is already planning a trip to Ireland to visit her new beau, Irish singer Damien Rice. Mehle's September 30 column in WWD reads, "Damien has invited her to visit him at his home in County Kildare, Ireland, which is famous for its beauty and horse breeding. Actually, it's the home of what they call the Irish National Stud—referring, of course, to the Horse Museum there and not to darling Damien, who is convinced she needs to get out of the press' red glare. Other than that, Damien insists they're just friends. That again. Renée just says nothing."

"Page Six" adds that "Chesney is said to have been shocked at his wife's demand for an annulment. 'Just three weeks before, they spent five days together and had a blast,' says a pal. 'He had no idea she was going to drop him.'"
