Red Cross Day of Giving

American Red Cross volunteers across the county will be out in full force Saturday, Dec. 13, collecting donations for the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund as part of the National Day of Giving.

Sara Evans, Rascal Flatts and Miley Cyrus are just some of the stars who serve on the American Red Cross National Celebrity Cabinet, and they encourage all Americans to lend a hand for this important cause. With a hugely active disaster season, including the worst flooding in the Midwest in 15 years,  wildfires, tornadoes here in Tennessee, Hurricane Ike, Hurricane Gustav and others, the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund is dangerously low. To help replenish the fund so that the Red Cross can be ready for the next disaster, the Red Cross has designated Dec. 13 the “National Day of Giving” as part of its efforts to reach the $100 million fundraising goal for the Campaign for Disaster Relief, which the organization launched in September. You may also donate to the American Red Cross at redcross.org.
