RECORD LABEL SHAKEUP

The RCA Label Group (RLG) and Sony Nashville will combine resources to create a “single powerhouse entity,” according to Sony BMG CEO Rolf Schmidt-Holtz.

Formerly, RLG and Sony were separate divisions under one roof, and had different artists signed to their labels. Joe Galante, who previously served as Chairman of RCA Label Group, will now head the newly combined group as Chairman. Artists on the RCA Label Group include Kenny Chesney, Alan Jackson and Martina McBride, among others, while Gretchen Wilson and Montgomery Gentry are among the artists on Sony Nashville.
