Reba’s New Show Delivers Big Numbers

Reba McEntire's new TV sitcom, Malibu Country, is off to a fast start for ABC. The show, which stars Reba as a divorced country singer who moves to Southern California with her children, premiered Friday, Nov. 2, and delivered the network its highest ratings in the 8:30 p.m. ET time slot in five years. The series premiere of Malibu Country drew 8.9 million viewers and also delivered high numbers in the coveted 18–49 age demographic.

Malibu Country also stars Lily Tomlin as Reba's colorful mom. The show was treated less than kindly by most television critics, but as far as the fans are concerned, it's another sitcom smash for Reba. Her previous series, Reba, drew similar numbers and the show still airs in reruns on CMT.
