Reba Says She Pretty Much Plays Herself on New TV Sitcom

She’s thrilled that Lily Tomlin is playing the mom on the ABC show Malibu Country.

Actors get the question all the time: Are you anything like the character you play? And, most times, the actor says no.

But Reba McEntire is not most actors.

ABC Radio News asked Reba if there are any differences between her and the character she plays on new ABC sitcom Malibu Country, which premieres Friday night (Nov. 2).

"I don't think so. You know, I really don't," Reba says.

"I'm not that good of an actress," she continues, laughing. "I just have fun with it, and they give me the lines and I go with it."

One of Reba's favorite parts of shooting the show is working with Lily Tomlin, who plays her mom.

"She is the voice of experience," Reba says. "Sometimes the voice of reason, and witty, funny, a character on and off the set."
