Reba Responds

During the recent CMT Music Awards, comedian Kenan Thompson, who began impersonating Reba McEntire during Saturday Night Live skits, greeted the crowd in a green gown and a red wig before eventually bantering with the real Reba in a hilarious encounter.

Backstage during the CMA Music Fest, Reba told reporters she discovered Kenan's comedic impersonations after being alerted via e-mail. "When I watched it, I didn't like it at all," she admitted. "I was very offended. Then I kept watching it, and [I realized] that he was making fun of himself. There were degrees of it that I wouldn't let any of my kids watch, and there were parts of it that were really funny, and, of course, imitation is a form of flattery. It was all done in fun.”

Reba says that she did enjoy her time backstage with the comedian. “Keenan is a sweetheart of a guy," she told reporters. "I really had a good time with him on the CMT Awards.”
