Reba Celebrates The Band Perry’s CMA wins

Reba gives a toast and advice to The Band Perry.

Perhaps no one is as proud of the recent successes of The Band Perry as their tourmate Reba McEntire. The family trio, along with Steel Magnolia and Edens Edge, are openers on Reba's All the Women I Am Tour.

“I’m just amazed at their talent,” Reba tells CountryWeekly.com of Kimberly, Reid and Neil Perry. “Their business talent, their personalities, and then their singing and songwriting . . . It’s refreshing to sit and watch them perform. I adore them.”

Prior to a Nov. 12 show in Atlanta, Reba gave a toast to The Band Perry to celebrate their recent wins at the Country Music Association Awards for Song of the Year, Single of the Year and New Artist of the Year.  The Band Perry was surprised with two cakes celebrating their wins.

“She gave us some Reba luggage and we all got to eat cake, which we were so excited about,” Kimberly Perry tells CountryWeekly.com. “My favorite part was when she gave us advice. She likes to give advice and impart wisdom that she’s collected over the years.”

So just what did advice did Reba give this red-hot trio? “I told them to remember what’s going on now,” Reba says. “They are on a roller coaster. They are going so fast—as soon as they are through doing one thing they are off to do another. Stop and smell the roses and remember what’s happening. That’s why you have so many people around you, to help you remember. Because 10 years from now, they will come up to you and say, ‘Remember after the show years ago when you won?’ and you’ll be like, ‘No,’ because you are going to be exhausted, you’re going to be a like a deer in headlights at that moment. I told them to savor as much as they can now.”

The All the Women I Am Tour continues this week with shows in Lafayette, La., Biloxi, Miss., and Tupelo, Miss.
