“Country’s Night to Rock” airs on ABC, Aug. 12.
Rascal Flatts Makes It 7
Rascal Flatts has scored its seventh chart-topping single on the Billboard Country Songs chart as their current hit “Stand” goes No. 1.
“Stand” is the third single from the group’s Me and My Gang CD, which has sold more than 4 million copies. Rascal Flatts will also perform the song on the May 15 ACM Awards, where they are nominated for Entertainer of the Year, Top Vocal Group, Album of the Year for Me and My Gang and Single Record of the Year, “What Hurts the Most.” The group’s Joe Don Rooney recalls, “That’s one of the first songs we put on hold for the project. Again, just the groove of that song and the simplicity in it lyrically was just awesome.”
