Rascal Flatts felt "blessed, honored and grateful" to become the newest members of the Grand Ole Opry at the group's official induction, Saturday night (Oct. 8), at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville.

Those are the three words that first came to mind upon learning that they would become members, the trio's Joe Don Rooney told the Opry audience. "We're gonna work our tails off to wave the Opry banner," Joe Don added. Lead vocalist Gary LeVox thanked his family for their support and recalled watching the Opry telecasts on TV to see Minnie Pearl. "This is a dream come true from childhood," Gary said.

Jay DeMarcus added that he felt "humbled" and "blessed" to be joining the Grand Ole Opry family.

The trio was inducted as the Opry celebrated its 86th anniversary on its "Opry Birthday Bash" weekend. The Opry's vice president Pete Fisher and Opry legend Little Jimmy Dickens presented the trio with their official bronze statues. Pete called the group "trailblazers" and said, "We congratulate you on this incredible honor."
