Randy Houser Talks New Son and New Single

How Fatherhood Feels

For Randy Houser, his current tour—which kicked off Thursday night (April 26) in Knoxville, Tenn.—doubles as a chance to catch up on some rest. The artist has had his share of sleepless nights since he and wife Jessa Lee welcomed their son, West, in March. “I haven’t slept in seven weeks,” Randy says with a laugh. Not that he’s complaining, mind you. “It’s the best time ever. Four o’clock in the morning with him by yourself is just awesome. He’s pretty badass.”

And Randy feels similar about his rocking new single, "How Country Feels,” due May 8. He’ll be debuting the song and its call-and-response chorus, along with other material from his forthcoming album, for fans during his Jägermeister Presents Tour. “We’ve been rehearsing a bunch of new music and are doing probably seven or eight new songs,” enthuses Randy, excited to road-test the tunes. “This is a great chance to play it in front of a real crowd!”
