Randy Houser Preparing for Album Number Four

“I’m just wanting to continue to make music that I know I’m going to have fun playing live,” he says.

Randy Houser is three singles deep into his current How Country Feels album, which means before too long he will be back in the studio working on his fourth album.

Recently, Randy found himself in front of the studio microphone laying down vocals on a few new songs, just to get the creative juices flowing for when he’s ready to dive into the process.

“When I have the chance, I’ve been writing,” Randy tells Country Weekly. “I’m not even really starting to make another record right yet, I’m just writing stuff . . . kind of recording stuff to start to see [how I will be] developing a direction for an album. I’ve been writing and thinking about it, [and we have gone] into the studio and recorded about four things. I don’t know if they’ll ever be part of a record or not, but we’re just kind of seeing where we are. We’re in no hurry, thank God!”

One thing Randy knows for sure when it comes to the next project is that it will be what his fans have grown to love about his sound and style.

“I’m just wanting to continue to make music that I know I’m going to have fun playing live,” he says. “That’s one of the main things. I hadn’t really dug deep enough into it yet. I’m still so busy touring right now. I’m going to have a month off from the middle of December to the middle of January. That’s probably when I will start doing a gut check.”

In the meantime, Randy can be found on the road opening up for Justin Moore's Off the Beaten Path Tour, also featuring Josh Thompson. The tour runs through May of next year, hitting more than 50 stops along the way.
