Police Say Woman Found Drunk on Kenny’s Property
Suspect found with bottle of wine in a bathroom near the pool area of Kenny’s house.
A woman claiming to have a romantic relationship with Kenny Chesney was found drunk in a bathroom out by his pool early Wednesday morning (Feb. 15), authorities tell Nashville's News 2.
Kenny's publicists tell the TV station that the country star has no relationship with the woman, Melissa Carol Mansfield, and that he doesn't even know her. Kenny wasn't home when police arrested Mansfield and charged her with trespassing and public intoxication.
Police say Mansfield caught a Greyhound bus from Knoxville to Nashville, then hired a limo to take her about 25 miles south to Kenny's hilltop home. Authorities were alerted to her presence when an alarm was tripped.
"[The] corporal was looking around the perimeter and found her in a restroom. She had at least one if not two bottles of wine with her," Williamson County Sheriff's Deputy Hugh Tharpe said.
"She claims she had a relationship with the homeowner and he invited her there."
Mansfield is expected in court Feb. 23.
