Police Charge 59 With Underage Drinking at Rascal Flatts Show

A total of 62 get tickets at the concert at Darien Lake Performing Arts Center in upstate New York.

Police cracked down on underage drinking Saturday night (June 30) at the Rascal Flatts show outside Buffalo, N.Y.

Sheriff's deputies issued 59 tickets for possession of alcohol with intent to consume under age 21, a local newspaper reported. Another three fans got tickets, two for trespassing, the other for marijuana possession.

It's the second time in two years that alcohol has come into play at a Rascal Flatts show at the Darien Lake Performing Arts Center in Genesee County in New York.

Last year, the reviewer for The Buffalo News wrote that "an awful lot of people who appeared to have been, um, overserved populated the crowd."

The reviewer, Jeff Miers, added, "The general vibe in the audience, though celebratory on the surface, was marked by an air of boozy tension."

The headline for that review: “Rascal Flatts intoxicates crowd.”
