Pistol Annies Up the Ante

Pistol Annies' Miranda Lambert, Ashley Monroe and Angeleena Presley have upped the ante. The girls geared up for the May 7 release of their second album, Annie Up, by treating industry executives to beverages, barbecue and a sneak peek of a handful of tracks from the new project at Nashville's United Record Pressing plant.

At the exclusive event, guests enjoyed listening to selections from Annie Up while sipping on cocktails and noshing on pulled-pork parfaits. Yes, mashed potatoes, beans, pulled pork and barbecue goodness.

The album's producers, Frank Liddell, Glenn Worf and Chuck Ainlay, shared stories of working with the girls and the music, but it was Glen who summed it up by saying, "I think the girls made a brave record and a beautiful record."

As the music wound down, Miranda, Ashley and Angeleena visited with their industry friends, who each left with a hot-off-the-presses limited-edition gold vinyl copy of the new album.

Ears full of tunes, bellies full of barbecue—it's the Nashville way.
