Phil Vassar has teamed up with Feeding America, the largest domestic hunger-relief organization in the United States, to help bring greater awareness to the issue of hunger in America during September’s Hunger Action Month.

Phil re-recorded his song, “Prayer of a Common Man,” with the Fisk University Jubilee Singers to raise funds for the Feeding America network. The song will be available for download exclusively on Rhapsody beginning Tuesday, Sept. 9. Feeding America, formerly known as America’s Second Harvest, will receive a portion of the proceeds for each download of the song through the end of the year. “I know that hunger in America is an issue that affects every community,” says Phil. “By lending my voice to Feeding America’s Hunger Action Month campaign, it’s my hope that we can get millions of Americans involved in the fight to end hunger.” CMT serves as Hunger Action Month’s official media partner for the second straight year.
