PHIL & CLEDUS JOIN NASHVILLE STAR

LeAnn Rimes won't be alone as host on this season's Nashville Star. Joining LeAnn as a correspondent for the show will be country comedian Cledus T. Judd. Singer/songwriter Phil Vassar will be a celebrity judge. Phil and LeAnn have two things in common - they've both been contestants on another talent show, "Star Search," and they both live on the same block in Nashville. What will Phil and the other judges be looking for? "We're looking for something different," says Phil, "somebody that can interpret a song, like Jo Dee Messina and Alan Jackson, who [have recorded] my songs." The grand-prize winner of the third season of "Nashville Star" will receive a recording contract from Universal South, the home of Joe Nichols and Katrina Elam. The new season of Nashville Star premieres March 1st at 10 p.m. Eastern on the USA Network
