PETER JENNINGS TO GET THE BOOT -- LOTS OF THEM

ETER JENNINGS TO GET THE BOOT -- LOTS OF THEM Watch out Peter Jennings! Country fans are about to give you the boot.

Fans are coming together, teaming up with radio stations across the country in response to the cancellation of Toby Keith's July 4th television special. They plan to send Jennings as many pairs of boots as they can get their hands on -- a reference to the lyric: "You'll be sorry that you messed with the U.S. of A. 'cause we'll put a boot in you're a** -- it's the American way."

Although the network denies it, the story is that Peter Jennings himself vetoed the special because he did not approve of the lyrics in Toby's song "Courtesy of the Red, White And Blue."

Nobody knows what the network will do with all the boots, although a spokesperson for Jennings stated, "Knowing Peter Jennings, when the boots arrive, they will be given to the homeless."
