PATTY LOVES "HAM"

Patty Loveless, whose current album "Mountain Soul" is climbing the charts, is becoming popular in another medium as well. Loveless loves spending time on her HAM radio, and has become the subject of numerous postings on the HAM website, www.qrz.com. The singer's profile on the website has racked up an impressive 2600 hits.

One posting about her sums up HAM enthusiasts' general feeling about Patty's hobby: "I doubt hordes of folks will pursue amateur radio as a result of this, but it's sure nice to see an attractive, enthusiastic advocate of Ham radio."

Loveless began using amateur radio as well as Morse code when she was recovering from vocal chord surgery so that she could communicate with her husband, Emory Gordy, Jr. Other famous people who love their "HAM" include rocker Joe Walsh, the King of Jordan, and physicist Steven Hawkings.
